Attempted to work out the price online. Trying to get the price down toward my target was met with accusations of “working against” the sales person I was emailing with (Noah Foley). Maybe I’m naive, but isn’t that how you buy a car? You push for the lowest price you can get, while the dealer makes a push to get the most they can? It isn’t personal Noah, it’s just the business model you operate in. When I ultimately went with a different dealership that offered a lower price and let Noah know (he emailed to check on the deal), a different guy (internet manager Dennis Upshaw) curtly responded “they could go even lower, but no hard feelings”. I thought that was a bizarre way to respond to a potential customer. The competitor was nearly $3,000 lower than Seiner and at a very fair (to me) price which was essentially in-line with what edmunds.com listed as the “recommended purchase price” of the model and trim I was after. I didn’t need this other dealer to go lower, they’d come within $200 of Edmunds recommended price. And they did it without any fussing. We just efficiently worked out a deal, over email, while I was at work. No sitting in the dealership ice-box while a salesman continually says "I'll go ask my manager" only to come back with a new price still way higher than expected until you're too fatigued to continue. My advice for how to behave toward future customers: If you’re upset that a competitor beat you on a sale by offering a much lower price and your response is “yeah, well they could go lower” what does that say about YOUR pricing? Think about that for a minute. I ended up driving twice as far as I would have if I’d gone to Seiner, in-order to get the better deal. It would have been nice to pick up the car closer to home. I might have even paid slightly more ($100-200) to save the trip. But not $3k more, I'm making the longer drive every single time for that type of savings. In the end, I would have been plenty happy to buy from Seiner if the price had been competitive; but it wasn’t. And it was disappointing how rude they got over it.

Staff was very kind and patient with test drives and questions. Time spent between deal agreement and leaving with the car was incredibly long and communication really stopped through that time. We sat for hours not knowing anything other than “we are getting the car ready”. Lots of unnecessary talk about extended warranty options that could have been skipped had they asked us what our needs were first. Overall fine experience but just took way too long.
